Pablo Max

I’m a hands-on creative director launching projects in URL and IRL settings.

1. My approach to projects takes a holistic form, from Idea StrategyProductionRelease. I’ve found that a good release tends to lead to new ideas, which lends itself to a cycle of collaboration.

Practically, this means I am invested in projects from their inception through their realization, which sets me apart from a consultant (not invested in production), a strategist (not invested in idea, production), and a traditional agency (not invested in idea, strategy, and usually not release).

Occasionally, projects can be non-cyclical and have a clear start to end. Whereas the above would be described as a loop, the below is a phase.

2. I love to work with humans. I’m all for data — it can and should inform decisions where it makes sense — but at the end of the day, I am interested in working together with human beings to create better outcomes for other human beings. A lot of my obsession is around magical experiences; the final 5% touch that makes something feel special. This is something I think machines can’t and won’t be able to predict or do for a while (if ever).

3. Curiosity is my engine. I am endlessly curious, which has led me down extensive (career & personal) rabbitholes that shape not only a unique point of view, but also a unique network that spans Entertainment, Media, Culture, Technology, and Venture Capital.

4. I see being a generalist as a strength. I can get most ideas from zero to almost-there on my own or with limited resources, and I don’t let obstacles get in the way of a project getting done properly. When a specialist is needed, I tap in to a trusted and deep network of craftspeople who care deeply about the artisan details, when it makes sense to do so.

5. Cultural fluidity is in my DNA. I was born a French-American in Berlin in the 90s to two freelance artistically minded parents (music & film). I am multilingual, and have traveled (& done projects) from Beijing to Brooklyn, Singapore to Stockholm.

If any of this resonates (even if you just want to connect), don’t hesitate to contact me.
